Kids to College, Conservation Efforts, and a Trip to Ecuador!

by | Jun 11, 2024 | Newsletters

Dear Friends,

In our May newsletter, we asked for your support to help families fund the final year of university for their children. Thanks to your generosity, we are excited to announce that we are 35% of the way to our goal of raising $18,000! This funding is crucial for assisting families in ensuring their children can complete their university educations.

We aim to push this number to 50% by the end of June. Your contributions will directly impact these students and their families, providing much-needed financial support for their education and the betterment of their community.

About Amarun Pakcha

Our mission at Amarun Pakcha is to offer sustainable ecotourism services with bird-watching tours, hikes to our stream and waterfalls, and visits to pre-Inca petroglyphs, all within the foothills of the Ecuadorian Amazonian rainforest. We aim to provide you with an educational, cultural, and environmental experience that allows you to discover the natural and cultural wealth of the area while supporting forest conservation and community members.

About Me, Ellen Jacobson

My background in conservation and community development began in the late 1970s when I spent a summer in Tena, Ecuador, volunteering with a vaccination program. This experience led to my founding of Friends of Amarun Pakcha, which works closely with the Kichwa community of Wawa Sumaco.

Through your support, we can continue our efforts in both educational support and conservation, ensuring a brighter future for the students and the preservation of the Amazon’s rich biodiversity. Thank you for joining us on this important mission.
